Why, you may ask, does it seem like everything — the economy, domestic and foreign policy, our standing in the world — is in decline?
According to a noted medical expert, the answer is simple: The country is being led by a man in serious cognitive decline.
Dr. Vin Gupta is a medical analyst for MS NOW, and after Donald Trump fired off his bizarre “praise be to Allah” post on Easter Sunday, Gupta weighed in and suggested that Trump isn’t firing on all cylinders.
“Erratic. Can’t finish sentences. Often confused. Illogical train of thought. Word finding difficulties. Developing and worsening gradually over time,” Gupta wrote Sunday afternoon. “The President is exhibiting all the signs of dementia.”
This isn’t the first time Gupta has warned that Trump is fading mentally.
In February, after the so-called president returned from the World Economic Forum in Davos, he noted that Trump was “getting worse” and referenced the fact that dementia ran in the Trump family.
Trump’s father, Fred, suffered from dementia and later died as a result of pneumonia complicated by Alzheimer’s disease.
All of this had led the doctor to conclude, “The acting out, behavior changes, lashing out, acting unreasonable. One could say this is his core fundamental personality based on what we’ve seen over, frankly, his entire adult life, but it’s getting worse.”
Psychologist Dr. John Gartner has said he shares Gupta’s concerns, noting in December that the fact that Trump’s doctors keep giving him cognitive tests is telling.
“You could maybe justify giving someone the MoCA once, just on their age, just as part of a physical. If you’re giving it to him three times, that means you’re not assessing dementia. That means you’re monitoring dementia.”
A man with dementia should not have control of the American nuclear arsenal. It’s way past time for the 25th Amendment to be invoked and Trump removed from office.
