Happy to be yet another Republican lickspittle for Felon-in-Chief Donald Trump, Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) eagerly defended the president’s decision to gut the Russia sanctions bill that was authored by her late brother, former Sen. Lindsey Graham.
Graham was appointed in July to finish the term of her late sibling, and Trump has endorsed her as she seeks election to a six-year term in this year’s midterms.
But when she was asked by reporters about Trump’s waiver of the Russia sanctions, Ms. Graham remarked, “Personally, I would choose to put the pressure on Russia to end the war and get gas prices down. Because I don’t trust Putin, and I don’t trust Russia.”
A second later, however, Graham said she would discuss the matter with Trump next week and claimed that Lindsey and Trump “had that relationship where they could agree to disagree sometimes.”
Sen. Graham’s wishy-washy response set off a firestorm of criticism aimed at her on social media, with some calling her “beyond pathetic” and little more than rubber stamp for Trump.
