Jealous Trump Whines 9/11 Hero Is ‘More Famous Than Me’

As the nation prepares to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States that killed nearly 3,000 people, the so-called “leader” of the country spent part of his day complaining that he wasn’t sufficiently famous and whining that a hero of that horrific day had received more notoriety than him.

Donald Trump spoke at a Steel Across America event held at the White House on Wednesday, remarking, “They were sure they were going to die. Then suddenly, a rescuer appeared. They call him the man in the red bandana. Have you heard that term? The man in the red bandana has become more famous than me. I don’t like it. Very unhappy, but he’s become much more famous than me.”

The rescuer Trump referenced was Welles Crowther, a 24-year-old equities trader and volunteer firefighter who 18 people from the 78th floor of the World Trade Center before the entire structure collapsed, and is memorialized on the 9/11 website:

“Then, a man with a red bandana covering his nose and mouth suddenly appeared from the wreckage and smoke. He spoke in a calm voice and guided them to a stairway, leading them to safety. The man in the red bandana made three trips to the sky lobby, saving as many people as he could, until the burning building collapsed.”

Even though Trump posthumously honored Crowther with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, many who saw Trump’s remarks were disgusted by what he said and expressed their outrage on social media:

One thing is certain: Donald Trump is the single biggest piece of excrement currently walking on the face of Planet Earth.
