When he launched the U.S. military attack on Iran a week ago, Donald Trump claimed he was doing so because the Iranians were preparing to strike the United States. He also said a war with Iran would “free” the nation’s people from the tyranny of clerical rule by the hardline Shia government.
But it turns out all of that noble talk was nothing but a gigantic lie, and we know that because Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) let the cat out of bag today during an appearance on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox Business show.
Graham began his comments by telling Bartiromo, “We’re going to blow the hell out of these people. This regime is on death row. It’s going to fall. We’re going to have prosperity unlike anything anyone could imagine.”
He then added, “When this regime goes down, we’re going to make a ton of money.”
Freedom for Iran? Nope. Profit for the United States and the oil companies. That’s what the Iran war is all about. Cold hard cash is all that matters to murder enablers like Lindsey and his Tangerine Savior in the Oval Office.
While Trump and others in the GOP may try to suggest noble motives for the billions being spent to kill hundreds of innocent schoolchildren in Minab, Iran, we now know that blood money is the real reason for the attacks. Sure, the United States will lose military personnel in such a foolish military endeavor, but “we’re going to have prosperity unlike anyone could imagine.” And isn’t that all that matters?
Graham, Trump, and all of the GOPers cheering for mass murder in the name of the Almighty Dollar are ghouls. They deserve a special place in hell.
