Despite having won the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump seems bound and determined to replay it once again so he can get some measure of retribution against those who didn’t support him.
After he spent most of the weekend pitching an online hissy fit aimed at rock star Bruce Springsteen, Trump decided to add two other celebrities to his growing list of gripes: Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, and Oprah Winfrey, whom he accused of making illegal campaign contributions to Kamala Harris.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote:
“HOW MUCH DID KAMALA HARRIS PAY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN FOR HIS POOR PERFORMANCE DURING HER CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT?
“WHY DID HE ACCEPT THAT MONEY IF HE IS SUCH A FAN OF HERS? ISN’T THAT A MAJOR AND ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION? WHAT ABOUT BEYONCÉ? …AND HOW MUCH WENT TO OPRAH, AND BONO???
“I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter. Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment.
“In addition, this was a very expensive and desperate effort to artificially build up her sparse crowds. IT’S NOT LEGAL! For these unpatriotic ‘entertainers,’ this was just a CORRUPT & UNLAWFUL way to capitalize on a broken system. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!”
Trump’s ire is a response to comments Springsteen made during a concert.
“My home America, the America I’ve written about that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration,” Springsteen remarked. “This is ‘Land of Hope and Dreams.'”
“Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American spirit to rise with us, raise your voices, and stand with us against authoritarianism and let freedom ring.”
What’s really at play here is jealousy, plain and simple.
Donald Trump is jealous that truly talented people such as Beyoncé, Springsteen, and Oprah support Democrats like Harris while he’s stuck with “celebrities” like Kid Rock and Roseanne Barr, both of whom couldn’t draw a crowd of more than a few dozen fans if they were offering free beer and nachos as an enticement.
If Trump wants a “major investigation” into a real crime, he should have the Department of Justice investigate all the money he’s taken from foreign countries as part of his crypto scheme, and the $400 million luxury the government of Qatar has offered him as a blatant bribe.
Instead of whining like a spoiled toddler, shouldn’t Fragile Don try to solve the problems that Americans actually care about?
