Angry Hegseth Claims The ‘Deep State’ Is Responsible For Chaos At The Pentagon

With rumors swirling around Washington, DC that he’ll soon be dumped by Donald Trump, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth went on Fox News this morning and tried to blame everyone but himself for the growing chaos that’s reportedly engulfed the Pentagon since he took over.

Appearing on “Fox & Friends,” Hegseth claimed reports that he allegedly shared classified information with his wife and brother via Signal, an unsecured messaging app, were overblown and incorrect.

“We take classification very seriously.”

That led Fox host Brian Kilmeade to lead Hegseth right down the proverbial primrose path, tossing him this softball question: “Mr. Secretary, do you think you take this job, you come in with war experience and all your great background? Do you think there are a lot of people who don’t want you there, and there are some type of steep deep state forces that want to make sure you don’t stay there?”

“They’ve come after me from Day 1, just like they’ve come after President Trump,” Hegwseth replied. I mean, I’ve gotten a fraction of what President Trump got in that first term. What he’s endured is superhuman.”

“It’s not hard for me to do this job. I know exactly why I’m here, to bring war fighting and the war fighting ethos back to the Pentagon, to rip out the insidious ideologies and not compromise and not back down,” he continued. To bring in new press voices into the Pentagon, which we’ve done, to reestablish standards and accountability, to not tolerate leakers, to treat 100 percent operational control of our border, to get rid of trans lunacy in the military. We haven’t backed down.”

“So here’s the thing, a lot of people come to Washington and they just play the game, and it’s you punch their ticket, and get along to go along and start doing Meet the Press and going to the Council on Foreign Relations and spending time with all the new cocktail-sipping crowd. That’s not why I’m here,” he added. “I’m because President Trump asked me to bring warfighting back to the Pentagon every single day. That is our focus. And if people don’t like it, they can come after me. No worries. I’m standing right here.

Hegseth concluded his diatribe by telling Kilmeade, “The warfighters are behind us. Our enemies know they’re on notice. Our allies know we’re behind them. And that, in this dangerous world for the American people, is what it’s all about.”

Translation: No one who works for Trump is ever responsible when they screw up. Instead, they blame everyone else — the media, Democrats, previous administrations, the devil. It’s the same defense a child would use to explain why he or she broke a window. But but but…The window was in the way! It made fun of me! Someone is out to get me!

Shouldn’t we expect more from the people who are tasked with defending this country? If not, then we truly are doomed.
