There’s no shortage of things that can be said about First Lady Melania Trump (and most of them aren’t the least bit complimentary). Still, an assertion made by one of her top aides has set off laughter and mockery on social media that continues to resonate online 24 hours later.
Marc Beckman is a senior aide to the first lady, and he claimed during an interview that she will be known as “the most consequential first lady in [the] history of our nation.”
Citing her work with children “all over the place,” Beckman added, “If you look at everything that NATO has done, all of the world leaders, what more substantive has occurred?”
What in the hell?! Has Beckman ever heard of Eleanor Roosevelt or Rosalynn Carter? Now those were great first ladies who truly made a difference in the lives of others, as many commenters noted.
“She’s about as consequential as the morning load of pancaked crap in her malevolent meal tickets overnight diaper.”
