Fox News: Democrats Poised To Have Largest Senate Majority In 16 Years

With all of the early voting numbers and last-minute midterm election polls now calculated, even Fox News is predicting that the expected Blue Wave is likely to be more like a tsunami, including in the Senate.

Fox’s Griff Jenkins noted this morning on the conservative network that close Senate races are trending to Democrats.

“We are back with all new Fox News Power Rankings — two major shakeups in the balance for the Senate,” Jenkins told viewers.

Two major “shakeups” are taking place, Jenkins continued, in the states of Kansas and Nebraska.

Kansas, which had once been as a “Lean R” state, has now been revised to a toss-up, with polls showing Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton drawing even closer to incumbent Republican Sen. Roger Marshall.

In the Nebraska, Sen. Pete Ricketts (R) is facing a challenge from independent Dan Osborn, who would caucus with Senate Democrats if he wins the election. Fox has changed the Cornhusker State from “Likely R” to “Lean R.”

“As of now, with brand new Fox News Power Rankings, we see the seven toss-ups, and we have 48 seats in [the] Democrat column, 45 in Republican. So what does this math mean?” Jenkins asked.

The seven Senate races now categorized as toss-ups by Fox News show a clear pathway for Democrats to secure a 55-seat majority in the Senate.

“Let’s assume that one party had all seven toss-ups. That number then [for Democrats] would be 55, so the ceiling, the best outcome that Democrats could get for controlling the Senate could be with 55 [seats],” Jenkins explained.

“Whereas, if you give all seven to the Republicans, that number then becomes 52, meaning that Republicans could hold control in the majority of the Senate with a narrow majority.”

Democrats last controlled 55 Senate seats in 2010.

The House also looks incredibly favorable for Democrats, who are on pace to win control of the lower chamber by a margin of 220 to 196, which would all but guarantee that Rep Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) is the next Speaker of the House.

Democratic control of both houses of Congress would also lead to several investigations of Donald Trump and his administration, some of which could result in him and members of his cabinet being impeached and removed from office.

With just two days until the votes are counted, it’s more important than ever for everyone who wants change in the United States to get out and Vote Blue.
