Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the demented Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Trump administration, appeared at a campaign rally for Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers last night, and in the process he managed to spew some of the most vile and disgusting anti-Muslim bigotry that has been heard since Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed was nominated to face Rogers.
Kennedy, whose voice is more annoying that a buzzsaw cutting through metal, began with this attack on the entire global Arab community: “There’s five hundred million Arabs in the world.”
“And yet they don’t produce science,” he continued. “They don’t win the Nobel Prize. They don’t win the Fields Prize. They don’t win the Wolf Prize. They don’t produce literature.”
But Kennedy was just getting started proving his bigot bona fides.
“They used to — they were the first to make books.”
“In the 13th century, typical Muslim princes had more books in their libraries than existed in all of Europe,” he added. “And all of that tradition has been destroyed by the Muslim Brotherhood. They’ve created stagnant societies that do two things: hatred and war, and victimization.”
Such blatantly false proclamations need to be rebutted with facts.
Since 1978, three Arabs have won the Nobel Prize in science: Ardem Patapoutian, Ahmed Zewail and Moungi Bawendi (Zewail who also won the Wolf Prize); five have won the Nobel Peace Prize: Anwar Sadat, Yasser Arafat, Mohamed El Baradei, Tawakkol Karman and the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet; and two have won the Nobel Prize in literature: Naguib Mahfouz and Abdulrazak Gurnah.
Also, books are still made and distributed in the Arab world.
Brad Woodhouse, the president of left-leaning nonprofit Protect Our Care, also responded, telling HuffPost, “Fear and racism are the crutch of pathetic political hacks with absolutely nothing to offer or progress to point to.”
“Sec. Kennedy thinks spewing hate will distract from his multiple corruption scandals and starring role in the historic measles and food-borne illness crises Americans have suffered through this year. This wasn’t the first time RFK Jr. has trafficked in racism, but it may be his ugliest episode yet.”
No one should listen to a brain-damaged former smack addict like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has to say, and it’s safe to assume that his father is spinning in his grave with disgust.
