As returns from key midterm election races began to come in Tuesday evening and it became clear that American voters had overwhelmingly rejected Donald Trump and the Republican Party he has overtaken like a cancer, the so-called “president” became so angry and “paralyzed by fury” that he refused to speak to anyone and holed himself up in a private room at the White House, along with his most trusted aide, Natalie Harp.
According to The Daily Mail, aides had ordered platters of appetizers from the Cheesecake Factory, believing they’d be celebrating an overwhelming Republican victory in key House and Senate, and gubernatorial races.
But the opposite happened, with one race after another being called for Democrats, including in the once-impenetrable grip the GOP held on the state of Texas, where both Gov. Greg Abbott and Trump’s handpicked Senate candidate, Ken Paxton, were badly beaten by their Democratic challengers.
As early as 10 p.m., the uneaten trays of sliders and eggrolls grew cold and sat uneaten while Donnie secluded himself and watched in horrified disbelief.
“He’s watching Fox News barely uttering a word and paralyzed into silence,” an insider told the Mail. “It’s very, very dark in the residence,” another added. “It’s a dark scene.”
Even more galling for Trump is that members of his administration had been telling him for weeks that Republicans would be victorious and hold the Senate and key gubernatorial races in states such as Georgia and Texas. Instead, both of those key battleground state went to Democrats, with Keisha Lance Bottoms of Georgia becoming the first black female governor in the history of the United States, which must have been extra bitter for Trump, who is known to hate strong black women who dare to defy him.
Later in the evening, Trump finally commented on what was transpiring across the country, though as usual he took no blame for the Blue tsunami, posting on social media, “Fox News bears responsibility for these losses” and “If Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, hadn’t become a RINO in the last six months of his Political Life, he wouldn’t have lost.”
But the ultimate loser on Tuesday night was Trump himself, and even someone as delusional as him knows that and now will have to try and live with the reality of being despised and rejected by the majority of the American people.
