On Saturday, Canadians got a measure of revenge against so-called “President” Donald Trump and his endless insults against them during a concert by Canadian band Blue Rodeo.
Just last week, Trump said he was renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America, a move that has infuriated Canadians, some of whom are threatening to strip Donnie’s name from a road in Ottawa and call it Pelosi Avenue, Gulf of Mexico Avenue, Obama Avenue, or Rosie O’Donnell Avenue.
Blue Rodeo was performing at Toronto’s RBC Amphitheater. As they began the song “Hasn’t Hit Me Yet” — which includes the lyrics, “Watching the snow fall on this cold December night, and out in the middle of Lake Ontario, the same snow is falling on the deep silent water — lead vocalist Greg Keelor told the crowd, “At the end of this song, there’s a mention of a lake. It’s a lake right behind us right there.”
“I would just like you to sing tonight with full authority and ownership. And we’ll sing this one for the shining waters that have been there long before any of us were ever here,” he added.
At the end of the song, Keelor thanked the crowd.
“That was some good singing, folks. You’re good Canadians. God bless you. We love you for it.”
The day after the concert, Trump was back on social media, railing against Canada.
“When I announced that I was running in the 2024 Presidential Election, right at the beginning, Ford was getting ready to close their Big Factory, in Detroit. Then, because I was leading in the Polls, they figured they would leave it open a little longer to see what happened. Now it’s running 24/7, and it’s one of the most profitable Car Plants in the World! There are many other examples, for both Ford, General Motors, and others. I’ve revived, and indeed saved, the Automobile Business in our America. That’s because of what I’ve done with TARIFFS. One of the Worst Abusers is Canada. I don’t want Canadian cars, I don’t want Canadian parts, I don’t want Canadian anything. They’ve been ripping us off for decades, and it’s going to stop. This should have happened long ago with other Presidents, just as stopping Iran should have happened long ago. They want to be treated like a State, but they aren’t one. I deal with the Leadership of many Countries, but I find Canada to be the worst. They are entitled no longer! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
The United States is the laughingstock of the world, thanks to the Toddler-in-Chief currently residing in the White House. Thank goodness our Canadian brothers and sisters share our disdain for the fool. When he’s gone, maybe we can all get together for a concert right on the U.S.-Canada border and celebrate his demise.
