House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) thought he had the perfect putdown for Democrats running for Congress, but only managed to slam so-called “President” Donald Trump not once, but TWICE during a bizarre appearance on Newsmax, a right-wing network devoted to the obedient worship of the Orange Menace.
While talking about who should be allowed to run for public office, Johnson told the host that “crazy people” often get elected in the United States.
Right as Johnson said that, Newsmax began running video of Trump.
“It’s not unlawful for crazy people to run for office,” Johnson added.
“That’s happened throughout the history of our country. Never at this level, and never the number of people who are so determined to rip the Constitution in half.”

Oof! Embarrassing, but at the same time, incredibly accurate, as those who viewed the segment couldn’t resist pointing out.
Good gawd. The man doesn’t have one cell in his body that is aware of how stupid he sounds.

Keep talking, Mike. Maybe the GOP can become a permanent minority party for a century or two.
