Former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh is worried that Donald Trump and his administration will “incite violence” at the “No Kings” protests that are planned in at least 2,700 cities across the United States today.
Walsh expressed his thoughts this morning during an appearance on MSNBC.
“Trump and his people, they want violence, and they’re going to try to incite it all day. Ain’t gonna happen!”
“We are going to see the largest – I mean the largest – peaceful protest in American history,” Walsh continued. “People from all over the country coming together. We may disagree on a lot of issues, but everybody today is united in no kings; not here, not in America.”
“What my former party is scared to death of – and some have told me this privately – is mammoth peaceful protests,” Walsh said. “That’s what scares the heck out of them. What they want is violence, what they want is division – they don’t want millions and millions of Americans united in defending democracy.”
Trump and his Republican allies in Congress are indeed worried about today’s protests, according to journalist Greg Sargent, who said Friday on a podcast, “It has become very clear that President Donald Trump is really, really worried about the No Kings protests that are scheduled for October 18.”
“Suddenly, multiple Republicans are all using the same disgusting talking point about the protests, referring to [protesters] as agitators and terrorists. It sure looks coordinated. They’re all using the same vile language.”
“There’s nothing Trump hates more than seeing big crowds arrayed against him.”
Here’s hoping today’s crowds drive Donnie up the wall and trigger him in the worst possible way.
