The 80-year-old manchild who currently lives in the White House — aka the People’s House — is livid with rage after reading a ruling from a federal appeals court putting his construction of a White House ballroom on hold.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ordered construction of the ballroom to cease immediately because Congress—not the president—has the final say in all White House renovations.
“Congress has not ceded unfettered authority to the Executive Branch to dramatically redesign, reshape, and reconstruct the White House—the People’s House—to fit a particular President’s desires,” the panel wrote in its 2-1 ruling. “Each president is a temporary tenant, not the owner, of the White House and its Executive Residence.”
The Trump administration immediately appealed the ruling to the United States Supreme Court, which is packed with conservative justices who almost always rule in Trump’s favor.
However, for the next two weeks, construction of the ballroom will not go forward.
As you’d expect, Trump was infuriated by the ruling, and he vented his spleen on social media, writing, “Two Judges, one appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, the other by Sleepy Joe Biden, said in a ruling on the desperately needed SECURE Ballroom/Military Complex, including a major DronePort on the roof, that ‘Each President is a temporary tenant…of the White House.”
“We are not tenants, who pay rent and do all other things that a tenant must do, we are PRESIDENTS, elected by the people of the United States of America, and have many rights, including the right to fix, renovate, secure, protect, and beautify the White House grounds, which has been built and rebuilt, renovated and rerenovated, repaired and, simply, MADE BETTER, many times since 1792, and never needing the permission of Congress, or anyone else, to do so.”
“This decision, made after much work has been done and paid for, is a National Security Threat at the highest level. It is also a National Disgrace. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP”
National security threat? What a crock of shit! Trump can go to outdoor arenas for sporting events, but he needs a ballroom to be secure at one of the most secure locations on the face of the planet?
