White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wants us all to know that the person we see standing at the podium as she takes questions from the media isn’t really her.
Oh, so she isn’t a churlish liar who will say anything as long as it’s flattering to her boss, the 80-year-old mental patient currently befouling the Oval Office with his stench and questionable taste in interior decorating?
A video posted to Instagram by her hair and makeup artist, Leavitt says she’s really very funny away from work.
“OK, my question is, what is something about you that nobody knows, other than the people that are close to you?” Leavitt was asked.
“Are you a funny person or are you a boring person?”
“I don’t think people realize that I am silly. I’m funny, I think,” Leavitt replied
How funny is she?
“Well, because when I’m out of the podium I’m getting after it,” Leavitt said. But I’m not like that in real life, so you know, you just have to get to know me to know the real me.”
Leavitt’s words drew plenty of criticism and mockery on social media.
Sorry, Karoline, but most of us in the U.S. are too busy trying to pay the bills to join in your laughter. Also, we’re far too busy laughing at you and your boss.
