MS NOW host Rachel Maddow warned Monday evening on her show that so-called “President” Donald Trump is keeping much his post-midterm election agenda hidden from voters because he knows if they found what he has planned once the ballots are counted, Americans would reject the Republican Party in record numbers and the predicted Blue Wave would become a Blue Tsunami.
Citing recent reports that the Justice Department has been ordered by the White House to pause any further anti-abortion actions, along with news that no new strikes on Iran will happen until after Election Day, and a Trump plan designed to make it harder for Americans to gain access to cheaper Canadian medications, Maddow noted, “They are looking forward to doing all of this stuff to you, but they know it is not exactly popular. So, the plan here, the pattern you are seeing emerge, is that they’re just delaying all of it. They are hiding the ball.”
“They’re hoping people don’t think about this stuff or maybe don’t even know about this stuff when they are deciding who to vote for in these elections or whether they will vote at all,” she added.
Of course, we have no guarantee that Trump and the GOP will accept the results of the election. They could well refuse to seat Democratic members in both the House and Senate, or the DOJ may seize ballot boxes in key districts, especially in states like Michigan, Ohio, and Texas.
We have to vote, and then we have to hope the results will be so overwhelming that both the White House and its political allies are too scared to try and subvert the will of the public.
