In October, Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney will release a film that focuses on Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and it will allege that Musk used his Starlink satellites to steal the 2024 election for Donald Trump.
According to reports, Musk is already “freaking out” about the film — “Musk,” — and slamming it as a “hit piece.”
And based on what we know about the documentary, Musk has every reason to be worried.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Gibney believes he has the goods on Musk and just how active he was in making sure Trump beat 2024 Democratic Presidential nominee, Kamala Harris.
“Two revelations, or at least intimations, especially stand out, both involving elections and Musk’s alleged techno-surveilling means of moving them for Republicans. In one, Musk ex and former conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair, a central figure in the documentary, describes the events of Trump’s election in November 2024. Musk, she says, had a ‘degree of certainty’ about the results before they came in that ‘I had never seen before.'”
“He had told me [before the election] he was going to unleash the ‘anomaly in the matrix,’ ” she recounts, as a text exchange between them pops up onscreen backing up the claim. We see Musk telling her, “I have ten thousand lasers in space.”
“So you think he was referring to Starlink?” Gibney asks off-camera. St. Clair replies, “I mean, I don’t know where else he has space lasers.” Gibney leaves the text’s meaning hanging — was this a troll or a confession? — but hints he is taking it seriously when he then says in his patented voiceover, “What is Elon building, what are his goals, what are his actual motivations, and do we even know this man at all?”
Though he initially refused to comment publicly on the upcoming documentary, Musk finally relented and gave a four-letter response to what Gibney has reportedly uncovered.
Granted, that sounds like Musk isn’t worried, but based on Gibney’s previous films, he probably should be.
Also, the possibility that Musk cheated to help Trump win raises questions regarding whether or not the current president was legitimately elected. And if he wasn’t, then shouldn’t he and Musk both be charged with federal crimes?
We’ll have to wait another month before we get conclusive answers to that and other questions, but if Gibney can indeed present evidence, it’s fair to say that the second Trump administration is completely illegitimate and illegal.
