The U.S. Mint began selling its new $1 coin stamped with President Donald Trump’s face today. Still, neither they or the so-called “president” could have anticipated the coin would lead to internet derision and mockery, as it seems to suggest that the country died in 2026.
The coin was struck from metal but is gold in color and is sold in 25-coin rolls for $61 or 100-coin bags for $154.50 as part of the Mint’s series marking America’s 250th birthday.
Wouldn’t 25 of a $1 coin sell for $25? After all, that’s all its worth in circulation. And why would the Mint want to suggest that liberty died after 250 years? Could it have something to do with Big Brother Donnie’s fat face, anti-democratic policies, and vapid pronouncements?
It didn’t take long for social media to light up with reactions.
Personally, I think I’ll just use that $61 to buy a couple of gallons of gasoline. At least it has some value and will get me where I want to go.
