Donald Trump can read the polls, and he knows that an electoral bloodbath is coming for the GOP in November. So he’s already plotting ways to cancel the midterms.
Speaking with Real America’s Voice host and conspiracy theorist Wayne Allyn Root today, Trump was told that if Congress refuses to pass the SAVE America Act, which would require Americans to prove their citizenship when they register to vote and to show photo ID to cast a ballot, he could always declare a national emergency and threaten to cancel the election unless the legislation is enacted.
A national emergency, Root added, could only be overridden by a two-thirds vote of the House and Senate, so if he declared it in soon, “we will get photo ID, proof of citizenship, and a limit to mail-in ballots.”
The so-called “president” didn’t reject the idea, telling Root, “Let me just say that stranger things have happened, OK? I’ll leave it at that.”
This isn’t the first time Root has pitched the idea of Trump declaring a national emergency and canceling the midterms.
He also mentioned to former Trump adviser Steve Bannon on his “War Room” podcast, remarking, “This is how Trump destroys them, and this is how we win the midterms.”
“I’m telling you, this is the holy grail,” Root added. “It’s foolproof. They can’t stop it, and they’re going to panic. They’re going to be hysterical when they realize there’s nothing they can do.”
Will Trump attempt to give himself the powers of a king and cancel elections as a way of remaining in power? We all know he’s capable of such evil, and all that remains to be seen is when exactly he’ll make his move.
We are living in perilous times, and all that can stop the schemes of a madman like Trump is if we all rise up and counter his next grab for complete power.
