Today is exactly three months before the 2026 midterm elections are held, and the latest polling numbers for so-called “President” Donald Trump are so dismal that Republicans must be secretly fretting that they could lose both the House and Senate in the largest Blue Wave midterm election in U.S. history.
How bad are the polls for Trump? They’ve hit the lowest level of his presidency and are dangerously close the lowest ever reported for any second-term president in history.
Trump’s on-again, off-again war with Iran (which is currently on pause, according to him) is only supported by 33% of Americans, with most saying the impact on gas and grocery prices far outweighs Donnie’s foolhardy foreign and national security policy objectives.
The most recent surveys—showing Trump at 34 percent in a CNN poll, 33% in an AP-NORC poll, and an all-time low of 32% in a Quinnipiac University poll—signal that American voters are sick and tired of the job Trump and his GOP colleagues are doing on a raft of issues ranging from domestic policy to immigration and affordability.
But to hear Trump tell it, the numbers are fake news and the public supports him completely.
Taking to social media, Trump posted this Monday morning:
“My REAL Polling Numbers, not those made up by the Fake News Media, are the best they have ever been, and why wouldn’t they be with the biggest tax cuts and employment numbers EVER, the biggest outside Investment in America in World history, a totally secure Border, a giant Victory in Venezuela, the Denuclearization of Iran, unparalleled respect and success throughout the World, and much more? Don’t believe the Radical Left’s Fake Poll numbers. They are Crooked and Corrupt, just like the Country Destroying Dumocrats are Crooked and Corrupt. VOTE REPUBLICAN FOR GREATNESS IN AMERICA! Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT”
There’s not a shred of truth in that posting, and it’s a safe bet even Trump knows it. But if he acknowledges reality, he knows it may keep many of his voters from going to the polls in November, which would result in an even bigger drubbing for the GOP.
Also, a large enough Democratic majority in both houses of Congress means Trump will be impeached yet again for his many crimes and misdemeanors, and this time there might just be enough votes in the Senate to give him the boot.
Trump is terrified. And he damn well should be.
