First Lady Melania Trump tried to have it both ways on the issue of a Supreme Court ruling handed down Tuesday that upheld laws in Idaho and West Virginia banning transgender girls from participating in female sports.
In the 6-3 ruling, Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote for the majority, “The Constitution and Title IX do not require an overhaul of women’s and girls’ sports throughout America.”
That led Mrs. Trump to post support for the high court’s decision. However, she also said she supported the LGBTQIA+ community, writing on Twitter/X:
“As many of you may know, I fully support the LGBTQIA+ community. But we must also ensure that our female athletes are protected and respected.” – MELANIA, #1 NYT Bestseller, (p. 156)
The U.S. Supreme Court has now legally confirmed this opinion:
“Under Title IX and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, may schools maintain women’s and girls’ sports for biological females? … The answer is yes.”
America, we can support the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community and also protect opportunities for female athletes. Respect everyone and keep girls’ sports fair.
Both ideals are essential.
That didn’t sit well with many who have been ardent supporters of the first lady’s husband and his extreme right-wing political movement, and they angrily attacked her online.
If Melania really supported the LGBTQIA+ community as she claims, she’d tell her husband to respect and support all Americans, not just the ones he agrees with. She won’t, of course, because it’s unlikely the two of them even speak to each other. Then again, you can’t blame her for wanting to get as far away from her fetid, shit-stained husband as possible.
