Congressional Republicans, already sensing that they’re on the verge of losing the House of Representatives by as many as 20 seats in the midterm elections, are now watching their control of the Senate slip away, too.
The GOP is so worried about what will transpire in November that they’re letting their supporters know just how bad things could be when the votes are counted, sending out a frantic email to potential donors in which they warn three key states — Georgia, North Carolina, and Ohio — are close to being blowouts for Republican Senate candidates.
“We just received a terrifying report that could reshape the midterms… All 3 of the major battleground states we need to defend and expand the President’s majority just shifted toward the Democrats!” the email from the National Republican Senatorial Committee warns.
The email continues, “Why did all 3 of those states’ ratings move toward the Democrats? Unfortunately, the Left is still crushing us in voter verifications and voter enthusiasm!”
“If we don’t close the gap RIGHT NOW, these races are only going to move further toward the Democrats as Election Day draws closer!”
How does the NRSC suggest overcoming the enthusiasm gap between the two parties? By cheating, of course!
“That’s why our Party’s Voter Verification Initiative just became our single most important effort of the 2026 midterms,” the email from April 23 notes. “If we’re going to win, we MUST have a 100%, fully verified voter file before voters go to the polls this fall.”

As usual, Republicans can only win when they cheat, and their latest mechanism for that is to make it harder for minorities, the poor, and women to cast a ballot. However, with the SAVE Act now dead in the Senate, they will be unable to accomplish their goal of disenfranchising millions of voters before ballots are cast in a few months.
If you need another reason to Vote Blue in November, consider this: A large enough Democratic majority in the House and Senate would lead to oversight of the Trump administration’s many illegal actions and could also set the stage for him to be impeached and removed from office.
But to accomplish that, we have to vote in record numbers and make sure the GOP gets a clear message: They are on the verge of being irrelevant unless they cut their ties to Dementia Don.
