Trump’s Fear Of Losing The Midterms May Lead To A ‘Civil War’ Reaction

Although he claims to be the most popular president in U.S. history, polls taken over the past few months show that Donald Trump’s approval rating is at a historic low, with some surveys showing him with an approval rating below 40% and falling rapidly.

In other words, as the November midterm elections draw closer with each day, Trump and the Republican Party he controls with a death grip are on the verge of losing both the House and Senate, an outcome which would be especially disastrous for the so-called “president” because Democratic control of Congress would lead to multiple investigations of his actions since taking office and likely result in him being impeached for the third time.

That political calculation, according to a report from the Washington Post, could lead Trump to resort to draconian actions that would imperil the freedom of every American.

“Trump has stepped up ICE patrols across the country and deployed or attempted to deploy National Guard troops in several cities run by Democrats,” the newspaper notes. “After the Civil War, paramilitary groups and mobs used violence in the South to prevent Black voters from casting ballots, and a century later law enforcement attacked civil rights protesters as they fought segregation.”

“Now, the president’s critics fear he could try to ramp up deployments and law enforcement operations in Democratic areas in the lead-up to the 2026 election,” the Post warns.

In such a scenario, Trump might also decide to deploy federal agents, along with National Guard troops, into blue states as November approaches.

Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL) says he fears Trump will try to assert dictatorial powers as a way of controlling who can vote or even canceling elections in some blue states.

“He’s attacking blue states out of revenge. If that’s in the form of sending in ICE, he sends in ICE. If it’s denying food and education to their children, which, to be clear, are America’s children, he’s gonna do that. What he is doing is seeking revenge at the cost of America’s most vulnerable people, putting those communities at risk.”

Will Trump go full dictator in a desperate attempt to hold power and keep Republicans in control of Congress? Considering the many controversial decisions he’s made and his willingness to flood cities like Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles with the National Guard, it’s impossible to rule out such a move by someone as unstable as the current head of state.

No matter what happens, all of us have to remain ready to resist if Donald chooses to anoint himself as the American Caesar. Otherwise, the American republic is doomed.
