Bondi Indefinitely Delays Release Of Epstein Files Despite Congressional Vote

Despite both houses of Congress voting almost unanimously Tuesday to compel the immediate release of files related to the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein — the late sex trafficker and former BFF to Donald Trump — Attorney General Pam Bondi made it clear today that she doesn’t intend to comply, citing a “pending investigation” that prohibits her doing so.

Translation: Trump’s AG is now in direct defiance of Congress and appears unlikely the files will ever be made public.

During a press conference this morning at the Justice Department, Bondi was asked about how soon the public could expect information related to Epstein.

“The law passed both chambers last evening. It has not yet been signed, but we will continue to follow the law again while protecting victims, but also providing maximum transparency.”

That led a reporter to remind the attorney general that the DOJ had released a memo earlier this year in which it claimed there wasn’t enough evidence to “predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties.” Additionally, it also said that the FBI had determined determined “that no further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted.”

“What changed since then that you launched this investigation?” The reporter inquired.

Bondi’s reply came in the form of a nervous stutter.

“Uh, information that has come forward. There’s information that… new information, additional information, and again, we will continue to follow the law, to investigate any leads.”

Another reporter then queried, “What new information, and would you limit the new investigation to just those named persons that the president talked about, or is this a broad, open-ended investigation?”

“We’re not going to say anything else on that because now it is a pending investigation in the Southern District of New York,” Bondi declared.

No wonder Trump said he had no problem with the discharge petition that originated in the House to compel the release of the Epstein files. He knew all along that Bondi would cover his ass and refuse to comply with the legislation. That used to be considered obstruction of Congress. Now, however, it’s just yet another law broken by the most lawless administration in American history.
