New Poll: A Majority Of Americans Already Support Impeaching Trump

The United States is so deeply divided politically that it’s nearly impossible to get a majority of voters to agree on anything.

However, when it comes to Donald Trump, discontent continues to grow among the U.S. electorate, and a new poll shows that 52% of those surveyed say they now favor removing Trump from office via impeachment.

According to Common Dreams, the poll showing support for impeaching Trump follows others that reveal the Felon-in-Chief’s support cratering to 39% as he reaches the 100-day mark of his second term in office.

“The survey was conducted from April 18-21 by Data for Progress. The polling firm also asked the 1,171 respondents, ‘Thinking of an impeachment effort led by Democrats in Congress, which of the following comes closest to your view, even if none are exactly right?’

“The largest share of respondents (46%)—including 80% of Democrats, 52% of Independents, and 9% of Republicans—said that ‘Democrats in Congress should attempt to impeach Trump because they have a duty to remove a president that has violated Americans’ constitutional rights and the law.'”

As you’d expect, Trump dismisses the polls, calling them inaccurate and biased, but with multiple polling firms now reporting that the so-called president is underwater when it comes to his approval rating and his support continuing to erode — even among his own voters — Republicans are in a difficult position that could result in them losing in the 2026 midterm elections and wrecking their attempts to cut government services to the bone, a move that is also politically unpopular among most Americans.

The same impeachment poll also reveals that “support for impeachment is now on par with the levels seen during the two most recent impeachment proceedings—even before a full public case has been presented. This moment offers an opportunity to build that case for the American public and demonstrate that elected leaders are committed to upholding their oaths and are willing to act boldly to protect our freedoms, our families, and our futures.”

On Monday, Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) filed seven articles of impeachment against Trump, accusing him of “tearing down and endangering our democracy.”

Donald Trump is even less popular than he was during his first term. And that doesn’t bode well for his political future.
