Easter feels different this year, especially at the White House, according to three Fox News hosts who weighed in on the matter this morning on the network.
On “Fox & Friends Weekend,” co-host Charlie Hurt noted that his colleague Rachel Campos-Duffy would attend Monday’s Easter event at the White House.
“The real spirit of Easter has returned to the White House,” Campos-Duffy gushed, though she failed to explain why she would say such a thing.
“I love that you are mentioning how you’ve been invited in the past you were never able to attend and so here now you are and in bringing so much to the table, you know you and your husband (Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy) have contributed so much to this country and in sort of professionally and outside and with your your families and your book that you’re reading,” co-host Emily Compagno said.
Hurt told viewers that Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) had sponsored legislation to make the day a federal holiday.
“Absolutely, and just think about me, the whole purpose of government really is so that we can all live our lives with our families,” Campos-Duffy noted. “And so if the federal government could make a federal holiday to make it more likely that we can all come together as families. That’s the purpose.”
“We are a Christian country,” she added.
No, we are NOT a Christian country. The Founding Fathers clearly stated in the U.S. Constitution that this country wouldn’t have a national religion. They had seen the evils done in the name of state-mandated religion in England and fought a war to get away from that form of government.
Also, if Donald Trump makes it feel like “the spirt of Easter” has returned, then apparently the deity you worship is cool with rape, sexual assault, fraud, and false imprisonment.
What’s back at the White House? Grift and ignorance. As if those were ever in short supply in Washington, D.C.
