Susan Collins Gets Brutally Heckled During TV Interview: ‘You Can’t Eat Road Salt!’

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) got humiliated during an interview with reporters at the Fryeburg Fair in western Maine when someone reminded her of the idiotic brag she made during a debate about getting road salt exempted from Donald Trump’s foolish trade tariffs.

During the interview, someone shouted out, “You can’t eat road salt.”

In the debate with Democratic challenger Troy Jackson, Collins was asked about Trump’s recent imposition of tariffs on Canada, to which she replied, “But I’ve also been working behind the scenes. Troy mocked it, but I was successful in getting concrete, pulp and road salt removed from the tariff list. And if you ask towns in northern Maine and eastern Maine, they get all of their road salt from Canada.”

Jackson responded, “I didn’t mock the fact that she got road salt back. I mock the fact that: What about everything else? I mean, we can’t eat road salt.”

And now Collins has become a laughingstock as a result of her foolish comments, as you can see in the video.

Asked at the fair what she had to say to voters who believe she’s out of touch, Collins responded, “Well, first of all, I’d contest the premise of your question, as you could see from the response here today, which was enormously favorable. There are always a few exceptions.”

The clip, which has been viewed over 27,000 times so far, drew plenty of reaction on social media.

Let’s be sure and share Susan’s humiliation all over social media. Feel free to share this article anywhere you like. You might even want to send it to Collins herself. Here’s her Twitter account: https://x.com/SenatorCollins
