Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy humiliated himself during a campaign rally in Vandalia, Ohio, when he attempted to pick up a 10-year-old boy and nearly dropped the kid.
Ramaswamy was interacting with the crowd when he saw a boy holding a sign that read, according to Ramaswamy, “My dad is deployed—proud military kid for Trump.”
“You want to come up here? Are you okay? You want to just come up here? Bring that… is it possible to get this young man up here or no?” Ramaswamy asked.
The candidate invited the kid onstage and announced, “I’m going to pick you up.”
That was a big mistake.
Ramaswamy lifted the kid a couple of inches off the ground and lost his grip, nearly dropping the boy.
“Whoa!” Ramaswamy remarked “Big guy!”

Though Ramaswamy tried to play off the gaffe, it didn’t take long for internet karma to catch up with him and deal him yet another dose of humiliation.

There just went the last 7% of his vote. He just can't help himself at this point.

I think the kid would've done a better job of picking up Vivek

The latest polls show Ramaswamy losing to Democrat Amy Acton by 4 to 5 points. After this latest gaffe by the Republican, however, those numbers could drop even further for the Republican.
