The Republican Party in the Age of Trump has become little more than a cover organization for the 21st century version of the Ku Klux Klan, filled with bigots, homophobes, and outright racist pieces of human excrement who delight in denigrating anyone who isn’t white, Anglo-Saxon, and faux Christian.
Things have gotten so toxic in today’s GOP that the hate-filled MAGA douchebags who have taken control of the party are now openly attacking their own candidates for daring to speak Spanish in public.
Such was the case when Florida Republican Lieutenant Governor candidate Bryan Avila spoke this week at an event with GOP gubernatorial nominee Rep. Byron Donalds in Kissimmee, Florida.
Avila began his remarks to the crowd in Spanish, telling the audience that he was from Miami.
“For me, honestly, it has been a dream to travel the entire state of Florida, to visit many communities in our state, to talk with many people, whether they are Cubans, Puerto Ricans, from Venezuela, from Colombia, from Brazil, lots of people,” Avila continued in Spanish.
“This election is a very important election in our community and in our state,” he added, in Spanish. “We know what has happened in other states like California, New York, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, and we don’t want that path here in our state.”
“We don’t want it,” Avila reiterated in Spanish.
At that point, a man in the audience shouted, “Speak in English!”
“I will. I will. I’ll get to you,” Avila assured the man in English.
But the heckling continued, leading Avila to joke, “Don’t worry. I got you. I could also give you a little French. Je suis Bryan Avila. Je suis Cubain.”
Many in the crowd groaned in disapproval.
“But I’ll go back to Spanish. Just for a little bit!” Avila said.
Avila ended his remarks, in Spanish, telling the crowd, “May our state remain strong, free and prosperous, and with your help, it will be.”
“But we need to talk to our neighbors, talk to our family, talk to our friends, and we have to elect Byron Donalds as our next governor of the state of Florida,” he said.

If a person cannot speak Spanish in Florida of all places, then what exactly does that tell us about the GOP in 2026? Clearly, it proves that the Trump Republican Party (TRP) is more intolerant than ever and willing to crucify their own candidates for not conforming to their bigotry. And that’s how a political party winds up eating itself alive.
Here’s hoping the GOP soon becomes nothing but a painful memory in this country.
