Irish President Issues Stern Rebuke To Trump For His Bellicose Foreign Policy

Irish President Catherine Connolly let the world know that when she spoke with so-called “President” Donald Trump during his visit to the nation, she pulled no punches, letting him know that his war-first foreign policy is foolish, as is his support for Israel’s destruction of Gaza, which has led to a humanitarian disaster.

After Connolly met with Trump, according to the Irish Examiner, she revealed what she told Dementia Don.

“I conveyed the strong view of the Irish people that the normalisation of war and genocide in Palestine can never be accepted.”

“As a country which has suffered famine, colonisation and the violence of the Troubles, but also the importance of the long and challenging road to peace, I emphasised the unique insight which Irish people can bring to the resolution of conflict.”

Connolly also gave Trump a gift: A collection of poems, which notably included the poem “Ceasefire” by Irish poet Michael Longley.

The Irish president’s strong rebuke of the bloodthirsty U.S. head of state met with cheers on social media.

It’s not always easy to speak truth to power, but it needs to be done, especially when nearly 75,000 people have been killed by the Israeli military since 2023. Children are starving, old people are dying of exposure, and families are being ripped apart. It’s no exaggeration to call it genocide. It needs to stop, but likely won’t as long as Trump is president.
