Fox News anchor Bret Baier couldn’t resist laying a fact-check on so-called “President” Donald Trump after the head of state slammed the network for its coverage of the failed war with Iran.
Baier’s verbal takedown of Trump was in response to a hateful social media posting the president made regarding the network’s reporting of the ongoing military back and forth with the Iranian government.
“Jonathan Hunt of FoxNews did a particularly inaccurate report on the Failing Islamic Republic of Iran. I don’t want to meet, they do. In fact, they are begging to make a deal. Bret Baier should straighten out his flunkies, for a change!” Trump wrote on his financially failing Truth Social site.
Looking directly into the camera, Baier responded to Trump.
“First of all, Jonathan Hunt’s not a flunky. He’s a great reporter,” Baier said with a smile. “Second of all, Mr. President, we didn’t say you wanted to meet. In fact, we played a soundbite that you didn’t want to meet and there are no negotiations. We said that Treasury Secretary Bessent is hoping to meet with G-20 countries to increase the pressure on Iran and that Gulf State allies, including Qatar, are inside Tehran trying to get Iran to agree to concessions. That was what was said.”
And here’s the report from Jonathan Hunt that pushed Trump’s buttons:
Clearly, Trump is testy because he knows his war with Iran has exacerbated the affordability crisis he failed to address before he launched his harebrained attacks in conjunction with Israel. The price of everything — especially food and energy — is higher than it’s been for years, and the president has record-low poll numbers with midterm elections just around the corner.
The only person to blame for the clusterfuck the United States finds itself in is the clown who currently sits in the Oval Office. But he’s too busy renaming lakes and building a White House ballroom to solve any of the problems that most Americans care about.
