If you watched any of yesterday’s Senate hearing that featured Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, then you probably saw Fox News host Laura Ingraham looming over Fauci’s left shoulder.
Fauci, you may recall, led the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic during the first Trump administration and has been hailed for his role in ensuring a vaccine for the disease was rapidly developed and rushed to market to help quell the further spread of the virus.
As Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right not to testify, Ingraham repeatedly rolled her eyes and shook her head, and that caught the attention of The Daily Show, which quickly roasted the Fox host.
In a video posted on social media, Ingraham is heard remarking about another person, “The smirking for the camera… the smirk she had on her face… shaking her… shaking her head… and she just kind of rolled her eyes, mugging for the cameras, and at certain points it almost seems like a competition for the camera,” Ingraham’s voice says about another person she has attacked in the past.
“Her little charade for the cameras isn’t just an example of conduct that is boorish and rude, arrogant and rude, always performing for the cameras,” Ingraham said as the video continued.
“Taking a selfie like a junior high school girl,” Ingraham is also says, as footage of her also taking a selfie during the hearing is shown.
Others then joined the fun, heaping more mockery onto Ingraham.
