Trump’s DOJ Accidentally Gave ‘Damning Evidence’ To Congress That Could Sink Donnie

In what could wind up being the ultimate irony, it appears that Donald Trump’s own Justice Department, under the direction of Attorney General Pam Bondi, accidentally disclosed “damning evidence” of alleged crimes committed by the president, and that evidence is now in the hands of Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee.

NBC News reports that Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has notified Bondi of her mistake.

“In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Raskin alleged some of the documents, which had been sought by then-special counsel Jack Smith in his now-defunct classified documents case against Trump, were accessible only to six people in the government, and that the documents seemed to be relevant to the then-former president’s business interests.”

“These new disclosures suggest that Donald Trump stole documents so sensitive that only six people in the entire U.S. government had access to them, that the documents President Trump stole pertained to his business interests, and that Susie Wiles, then the CEO of Donald Trump’s super PAC, witnessed President Trump showing off a classified map to passengers on his private plane,” Raskin told the AG.

Raskin added that the DOJ had been “blinded by the frenzied search to find any scrap of evidence” to attack (former Special Counsel Jack) Smith, adding that the department has, “quite amazingly, missed the fact that some of the documents you provided include damning evidence about your boss’s conduct and may well violate the gag order your DOJ and Donald Trump demanded from Judge Aileen Cannon.”

Rather than admit the error, the DOJ attempted to defend itself with a social media posting.

We understand that

@RepRaskin, much like Jack Smith, is blinded by hatred of President Trump, however, he needs to get his facts straight—this Department of Justice is the most transparent in history in part because of our efforts to expose the weaponization of the Biden administration in full compliance with the law and the court. Jack Smith’s team was desperate to prosecute Biden’s top political opponent, so it is no surprise that his files contain salacious and untrue claims about President Trump. The accusations Raskin makes are baseless. Judge Cannon’s protective order was not violated, and none of the documents produced by DOJ violated 6e as none of them disclosed matters occurring before a grand jury. The documents marked “6e” contained redactions of any 6e material. As an attorney and law professor, one must assume Raskin understands this, and thus, reveals this letter is nothing more than a cheap political stunt, almost as if taking cues from members of the corrupt Jack Smith prosecution team.”

The larger problem for both Trump and Bondi is that the evidence Raskin now has in his possession could become a cornerstone of impeachment proceedings against Trump if Democrats regain control of both houses of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.

It could also haunt Trump long after he leaves office, leading to a separate prosecution on criminal charges for illegally keeping and non-securely storing classified documents after he left the White House in 2021.

Best of all, one of Trump’s most trusted protectors — Bondi — might wind up being the person who provided proof of Trump’s crimes, meaning his own attorney general wound up getting him a nice long prison term.

Now that’s some incredible karma!
