GOP Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee is preparing to leave the Senate and run for governor of the Volunteer State, but something she posted online about the richest state in the country sparked a wave of mockery and condemnation for the woman sometimes referred to as “Senator Hairspray.”
Having learned that California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) would be visiting her state, Blackburn launched this attack: “It looks like Gavin Newsom will be in Nashville this coming weekend. As Governor of California, he has driven his state into becoming the most unaffordable in America. Tennesseans have worked too hard to build what we have, and we’re not interested in @GavinNewsom’s failed, radical left policies that have wrecked California.”

Newsom immediately jabbed back at Blackburn.
“Spare me, Marsha. Tennessee’s violent crime rate is one of the highest in the nation. Californians make more $, live longer, and are overall happier — while you promote policies that have resulted in lawlessness and higher depression rates.”
“Time to turn Tennessee blue.”

California contributes significantly more in federal taxes than it receives, while Tennessee is a recipient of federal funds. In FY 2022, Tennessee received about $19.7 billion in federal transfers.Â

Hey Senator Hairball. why don't you work on maternal death rates where they are FOUR TIMES HIGHER in Tennessee compared to California.

It’d be nice to think that Marsha would learn from her latest faux pas, but considering that she suffers from terminal foot-in-mouth disease and no oxygen can reach her head due to that bird’s nest she calls a hairdo, we won’t hold our breath waiting for a conversion or a miracle.
