Just hours after Donald Trump nominated him to be the next chairman of the Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh became front-page news for a second time after his name was found in the latest dump of documents from the Department of Justice files related to the activities and co-conspirators of the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, and that could well sink Warsh’s chances of being confirmed by the Senate.
The New Republic reports, “Warsh’s name appears to be on an emailed list of guests to “St. Barth’s Christmas 2010,” among others such as Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and disgraced director Brett Ratner. Warsh also appears on a list of people attending a dinner hosted by British aristocrat William Astor.”

Why would Warsh be mentioned in conjunction with Epstein? Probably because his wife, Jane Lauder, granddaughter of Estée Lauder and daughter of Republican donor Ronald Lauder, traveled in the same high-flying circles as Epstein.
While Warsh hasn’t yet been connected to any of Epstein’s illegal activities, he can expect to get some serious grilling from senators of both parties at his upcoming confirmation hearings. There will also be questions about whether or not Trump picked Warsh because he has connections to Epstein and is therefore vulnerable to pressure from the president if he doesn’t agree to significantly lower interest rates in a desperate attempt to help Trump and the GOP in the upcoming midterm elections.
Trump’s name also appeared prominently in the Friday release of Epstein documents, including allegations that the president raped girls as young as 13 and violently hit them when they failed to do as he instructed.
The Friday DOJ document dump is only the tip of the iceberg. Over 3 million files remain unreleased, a direct violation of the law Congress passed earlier this year demanding a full accounting of crimes committed by Epstein and his co-conspirators. It remains unclear if and when Justice will fully comply.
