California Governor Gavin Newsom may have just won the award for Best Online Trolling of 2025 with a video he posted that shows Napper-in-Chief Donald Trump, Secretary of State Pete Hegseth, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller in handcuffs during “cuffing season,” according to The Independent.
“Cuffing season is a term used to describe the desire to enter a romantic relationship during the cold fall and winter months. The term gained so much popularity that it was used in a 2022 Saturday Night Live sketch, where artist SZA sang, ‘It’s cuffing season, and all the girls are leaving to get a big boy. I need a big boy. Give me a big boy.'”
Newsom was responding to an earlier White House social media post with the message, “WE HEARD IT’S CUFFING SZN. Bad news for criminal illegal aliens. Great news for America.”
In his reply, Newsom turned the tables on Trump by showing him and some of his most controversial aides in cuffs.
SZA also joined the debate, writing, “White House rage baiting artists for free promo is PEAK DARK ..inhumanity +shock and aw tactics ..Evil n Boring.”
It should be fun to watch and see if the White House dares to try and counter Newsom. If they do, chances are good they’ll get slapped down yet again by the California governor.
