The federal government remains shut down and SNAP food benefits are set to expire as soon as Friday (which also happens to be Halloween), and yet Donald Trump thought this would be the perfect time for him to take a trip to Asia at taxpayer’s expense.
According to CNN, “US President Donald Trump has landed in Malaysia for the start of his high-stakes diplomatic visit to Asia, which will also include stops in Japan and South Korea. He is set to sign a peace agreement between Thailand and Cambodia upon his arrival.”
Shortly after he arrived in Malaysia, Trump decided he’d show off his so-called “dance moves.”
Dancing while people face the prospect of starving to death. That’s the height of insensitivity, as California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) noted online.
Others also found Trump’s gleeful jig to be in poor taste.
