In many ways, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is the perfect foil for the bluster and outright idiocy of Donald Trump.
For example: Newsom is brilliant and well-spoken while Trump is demented and speaks like a spoiled pre-teen.
Newsom is also a master of trolling while Trump has to use childish taunts instead of actually giving a response to questioning.
As a result, Newsom constantly bests Trump when the two get into a verbal back and forth such as the one involving Trump’s suggestion that he may send National Guard troops to San Francisco.
“We’re gonna go to San Francisco,” Trump said during a Fox News interview. “The difference [from Chicago] is, I think they want us in San Francisco.”
That was all Newsom needed to slam Trump on social media, which he promptly did.
“Fact check: Nobody wants you here,” Newsom wrote on X. “You will ruin one of America’s greatest cities.”
Others then joined the online debate.
Expect a petulant response from Trump later today. Provided, of course, he can manage to get out of bed.
