After making a complete ass of herself at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing earlier this week, Attorney General Pam Bondi is reportedly “on the ropes” inside the Trump administration, and top White House staffers are now attempting to push her out, according to Jake Lahut of Wired.
Lahut was a guest on MSNBC, and he explained that Bondi was losing support internally.
“Now, I never want to speculate into a competitor’s sourcing, but what it does make you wonder is whoever leaked this, were they okay with the implication that either Pam Bondi isn’t on top of this, or that Halligan might look like she’s jumping rank, and there’s really no downside to doing that internally,” he said. “What I can tell you from my reporting is that Pam Bondi is very much on the ropes internally. I did this informal poll in one of my most recent stories for the newsletter, where I asked Trump officials to rank one through five. Who the cabinet members in the worst standing were. And one of these guys put Bondi one through four. Really just like lumped in everyone else at the end. So the knives are definitely starting to come out for her.”
During her contentious testimony before the Judiciary Committee, Bondi suggested that Democrats on the panel had hidden agendas and had taken money from the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, though she also refused to say if or when she would release the full Justice Department file on Epstein and his connections to Donald Trump.
“Bondi’s approach to Democrats on the oversight hearing was summed up in her response to a question posed by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D.-Conn.) about her possible conflicts of interest amid Trump’s acceptance of a $400 million plane from the Qatari government. (Bondi lobbied on behalf of Qatar when she worked for Ballard Partners.)”
“’How dare you? I am a career prosecutor! Don’t you ever. Challenge. My. Integrity,’ she replied, punctuating nearly every word in her sentence with a pause.”
Let’s all hope that Bondi is indeed on the way out. She’s a disgrace to the office she holds and little more than a rump-kissing shrew who seems bound and determined to destroy the U.S. Constitution.
