Trump’s Chief Of Staff Is About To Boot Pete Hegseth From Defense Department: Report

The first member of the Trump administration who will be shown the door is Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and his firing or resignation will likely happen sooner rather than later, according to former GOP strategist Rick Wilson, co-founder of the Lincoln Project.

In a posting he made on Substack, Wilson revealed that White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is ready to remove Hegseth.

“It’s not just that the Hegseth team reflects his incompetence, lack of experience, and general ignorance of a complex, dangerous world. It’s that they’re spending the majority of their time trying to shiv one another,” Wilson explained.

Wilson also noted that recent leaks from the Defense Department suggesting that top Hegseth aides are “fighting one another like a bag of rabid ferrets” could also result in jail time for the Defense chief.

The Guardian first reported those leaks.

“The White House has lost confidence in a Pentagon leak investigation that Pete Hegseth used to justify firing three top aides last month, after advisers were told that the aides had supposedly been outed by an illegal warrantless National Security Agency (NSA) wiretap.”

And that, Wilson concluded, is all Wiles needs to push Hegesth overboard in the interest of shielding the administration from the chaos he has sown at the Pentagon.

“This story leaked because Susie Wiles is settling all family business, and has Hegseth on her death list.”

“She took out Elon. SECDRUNK Pete is an easier lift.”

When will Hegseth get the axe? According to Wilson, expect it to happen in “weeks, not months” if “(Wiles) has her way.”

Let’s hope Wilson is right. Hegesth is a clear and present danger to the national security of the United States and was never qualified to lead the Defense Department.
