“60 Minutes” anchor Scott Pelley dared to speak truth to power during a commencement address at Wake Forest University, and the MAGA faithful immediately had an online meltdown in reaction to his remarks.
“Our sacred rule of law is under attack,” Pelley began. “Journalism is under attack. Universities are under attack. Freedom of speech is under attack, and insidious fear is reaching through our schools, our businesses, our homes, and into our private thoughts.”
“The fear to speak in America. Power can rewrite history with grotesque false narratives,” he added.
Without having to say Donald Trump’s name, there could be no doubt who Pelley was talking about when he noted, “They can make criminals heroes, and heroes criminals.”
“Power can change the definition of the words we use to describe reality,” Pelley said.
What is being done by the administration, Pelley said, is “nothing new.”
“Diversity is now described as illegal. Equity is to be shunned. Inclusion is a dirty word. This is an old playbook, my friends. There is nothing new in this.”
BREAKING: In a stunning moment, renowned journalist Scott Pelley just highlighted how Donald Trump is working to stifle free speech in America, and how he plans on fighting back. This is huge.

It is very sad that CBS/60 Minutes’ Scott Pelley chose one of the happiest days for graduates and their families to display his undeniable case of TDS. Wake Forest University should be ashamed that it allowed this to take place. pic.twitter.com/h5EE3L7yEM
