Even though the “big beautiful” Trump budget narrowly passed (by one vote) last night in the House of Representatives and is a draconian measure that would result in the greatest transfer of wealth (from the poor and middle class to the richest American oligarchs), Republicans are furious that their Democratic colleagues are using the word “cruel” when discussing it.
However, cruel is the perfect word for the Trump/GOP budget.
If enacted, the budget would cut Medicaid funding by $800 billion, lead to $535 billion in cuts to Medicare, and is projected to cause an estimated 8.6 to 13.7 million Americans to lose their health care.
But according to Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, her Democratic colleagues are trying to scare their constituents about the bill, which faces an uncertain future in the Senate.
“I am concerned about what has been said about this bill and what it’s going to do,” Foxx whined. “The extreme comments that have been made about it, and how I believe that it is scaring people out there in the country unnecessarily.”
“The words I’ve heard, particularly today, are ‘cut,’ ‘rip,’ ‘gut,’ ‘kill,’ ‘cruel,’ ‘stealing food,’ ‘losing coverage,’ ‘jammed through,’ ‘biggest transfer of wealth from vulnerable to wealthy people,’ ‘irresponsible.'”
“That is not the way we ought to be talking about this bill.”

In other words, How dare you tell people the truth about how bad this budget bill is!
Sorry, Granny Tobacco Road, but while you may think your party controls everything, the loyal opposition isn’t about to let you gut our First Amendment right to express ourselves.
Congresswoman Foxx got handed a heap of online grief for her complaints.
Yes it fucking it is. That's what it fucking does.

@VirginiaFoxx wants to trick the American people. This bill will cut, rip, gut, kill, it's cruel and will lead to stealing food from Americans, to Americans losing medical coverage, and Republicans pushing the biggest transfer of wealth from the poor to the filthy rich.

LOL, maybe try not having the bill do those things then?

When every descriptor sounds like a horror movie, maybe the script needs rewriting. Don’t blame the audience for noticing.

Virginia Foxx doesn't like words like cut, rip, or cruel being used to describe the bill.

Maybe she should try explaining it to the American people.
Tell them why billionaires get more while their kids lose meals, care, and housing.
If the truth sounds cruel, maybe the bill is.
You’re right, @virginiafoxx. We missed a few adjectives and phrases to describe what your “big beautiful bill” is going to do to this country and the American people. Words like “decimate,” “alienate,” devastate.” I’m sure others have even “bigger, more beautiful words.”

Shame.
Foxx: That is not the way we ought to be talking about this bill.

Me: Okay, so how SHOULD we be talking about this bill?
Foxx: Shut up. Shut. Up.
She's not worried about what the bill will do to poorer Americans, only how it's being talked about. What a soulless ghoul.

Should stronger language be used then?

If more neutral words are what she's seeking, she will be disappointed.

The realities of the bill are the realities of the bill. It removes funding for Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, the VA and more. It proportionately benefits the wealthy and adds to the deficit.
Feel better now?
Republicans hate the truth. No wonder they love Trump so damn much: He’s never told the truth about anything.
