Ever since they won the 2024 election and took control of the White House, House of Representatives, and US Senate, Republicans have pledged they will cut back on government spending without cutting off anyone’s access to health care.
But as with nearly everything the GOP says, it turns out that’s a blatant lie.
We now know that Republicans plan to pay for yet another massive tax cut that will benefit millionaires and billionaires, by gutting Medicaid, the health care program that provides services for the neediest Americans.
We know this because it was accidentally revealed by Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, when he spoke with Will Cain of Fox News.
Smith listed the budget items holding up passage of the bill: Federal deduction for state and local taxes (SALT) and the repeal of green energy credits.
He added, “And then you can look at Medicaid cuts…”
Oops! Smith quickly
He immediately backtracked, telling Cain: “Medicaid reforms, I should say.”
Hmm…Reforms, huh? Sounds kind of suspicious.
Cuts are now reforms for Republicans, and that was certainly noticed by those who saw Congressman Smith’s Freudian slip revealing the GOP’s darker intentions.
Oooooh FREUD

Rep Smith saying the quiet part out loud on Fox. No need to try to sugar coat it anymore. We all know Republicans are destroying Medicaid.

Medicaid 'reforms' = cuts, but calling it 'reforms' sounds nicer.

The only reform is big corporation fraud

The working poor
The elderly & the disabled are not taking advantage of anything
Its all about your attempt to give tax breaks to the wealthy
Working class pay taxes. We expect services in return
@RepJasonSmith it's perverse that the GOP gets excited about putting the lives of the millions of Americans at risk so we can give away more tax dollars to the rich.
