Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) says she believes Republicans are headed for a landslide loss in next year’s midterm elections and that Donald Trump will be impeached if they do.
Speaking with former Trump administration official and convicted fraudster Steve Bannon, Greene said if she’s correct and the GOP does lose, it will be their own fault.
Greene also offered advice to Trump.
“Stick with the agenda and ignore the people here in Washington that are trying to get you to do something different. It’s the Republicans that are the problem, Steve.”
“Stick to the program!” Greene said. “And understand that the way to win the midterms is by the House and the Senate delivering the campaign promises because Trump’s not on that, he’s not on the ballot in 2026.”
If Republicans fail to deliver on Trump’s campaign promises, Greene warned, they will lose control of the House.
“I’m telling you. If you ignore the parents that are furious over COVID vaccines being on their childhood vaccine schedule, you’re gonna lose the midterms. If you ignore the campaign promises of no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security, you’re going to lose the midterms.”
“If you ignore the executive orders, the American people are like, yes, applauding for every single day, we’re going to lose the midterms!
And then came the specter of impeachment from Greene.
“If we’re campaigning in 2026 on, you have to vote for Republicans because the Democrats are going to impeach Trump, the American people are gonna go, we don’t care, we’ve seen that TV show before.”
Considering the historical election trend that suggests the incumbent party almost always loses a large number of seats, Greene is right to be worried. And if the nation is also in a recession at the time, there will indeed be a move to boot Trump from office.
This is what the GOP gets for hitching their wagon to a man as incompetent and deeply flawed as Donald Trump. As the old proverb reminds us, they made their bed and now they have to lie in it after Donnie shits the sheets.
