Tech billionaire and unelected POTUS Elon Musk failed spectacularly Tuesday in his attempt to sway a Wisconsin special election for a state supreme court seat, watching as his candidate went down in defeat to a progressive challenger.
“The Democratic-backed candidate for Wisconsin Supreme Court defeated a challenger endorsed by President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk on Tuesday, touting her victory as a win against powerful interests and cementing a liberal majority for at least three more years,” the Associated Press reports.
“Susan Crawford, a Dane County judge who led legal fights to protect union power and abortion rights and to oppose voter ID, stood on stage surrounded by the court’s four current liberal justices and celebrated her win as a victory for democracy while also taking a dig at Musk.”
Musk and his allies had spent $21 million in support of Republican-backed Brad Schimel, but voters in the Badger State issued a powerful electoral rebuke to outside interests who attempted to bolster Schimel.
“He tried to spend his unlimited resources to buy a state Supreme Court seat in Wisconsin,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) noted Tuesday evening on MSNBC. “And it failed spectacularly.”
After the election was called for Crawford, Musk posted a cryptic message on Twitter:
The long con of the left is corruption of the judiciary

It didn’t take long before social media users came after Musk with their electronic barbs.
America hates Elon Musk so much that he can literally wave millions of dollars under voters’ noses and they’ll still tell him to fuck off. You love to see it.

Another reminder that money can’t buy you love, @elonmusk.

How do we get Elon Musk to campaign everywhere?

Asking for all Democrats.

Here’s hoping Musk gets very involved in the 2026 midterm elections. That alone might help assure Democrats regain control of the U.S. House and Senate.
